Provide training and mentorship to entrepreneurs with disabilities to equip them with skills, tools, and motivation they need to identify opportunities in social entrepreneurship.

Social Entrepreneurship

Social entrepreneurship is widely recognized for empowering individuals from marginalized backgrounds, helping them identify and pursue opportunities suited to their abilities and interests. The work of this focus area will enable people with disabilities to acquire essential skills, gain confidence and motivation, and leverage resources needed to start, manage and sustain their own businesses.

Goal: Provide training and mentorship to entrepreneurs with disabilities to equip them with the skills, tools, and motivation they need to start, manage and sustain their own businesses.

Strategies

  • Provide customized training that addresses the specific needs and challenges faced by entrepreneurs with disabilities.
  • Establish mentorship networks comprising successful entrepreneurs, business leaders, and professionals to mentor people with disabilities in social entrepreneurship.
Create accessible educational resources and tools such as toolkits, and how-to guides, to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equitable access to information and support to succeed in entrepreneurship.
  • Collaborate with disability organizations, financial institutions, civil society groups, and relevant stakeholders to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote inclusivity and remove barriers to entrepreneurship for individuals with disabilities.
