To further our advocacy efforts towards disability rights and disability-inclusive development in Uganda, we launched the Journeys to Inclusion series—a contemporary disability inclusion campaign where we feature disability advocates and experts in diversity, equity, and inclusion to mentor, educate, and share their tested strategies for effective advocacy and inclusion with us.

In our illustrious series, we’ve had the privilege of hosting esteemed experts in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) fields. Our participants have had the invaluable opportunity to be mentored and groomed by some of the world’s foremost DEI advocates. These include: Nicholas Love, the Community Inclusion Director at the World Institute on Disability; Amanda Kraus, Executive Director & ADA/504 Compliance Officer, and Associate Professor of Practice, Higher Education at the University of Arizona; Mathias Ramos, Associate Director, Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations; and Dr. Wendy Parent-Johnson, Director, Rehabilitation Research And Training Center at the Virginia Commonwealth University, among others.

In less than a year since the inception of the Journeys to Inclusion series, it has touched the lives of over 500 individuals (people with disabilities, advocates for inclusion, and disability allies) directly and indirectly, creating a ripple effect of awareness, understanding, and action.
