Elizabeth Rwabu

Innovations and Sustainability Lead

Elizabeth is the lead innovation and sustainability contact at United Persons with Disabilities. She oversees innovation and sustainability as core functions and engages directly with a variety of stakeholders to contribute to the development of new and creative products and services to meet the diverse needs of our community. Elizabeth provides mentorship, guidance, and personalized support to our participants.

Elizabeth is the Head of Unit Makerere University Disability Support Unit and an Inclusion and safeguarding officer with the Mastercard Foundation scholars Program at Makerere University. She also serve as the training and development coordinator of Africa-JDO Foundation, a not-for-profit educational organization in the United States with a branch in Uganda. In this role, she train teachers in primary and secondary schools across Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, and Tanzania on the best pedagogical ways to use e-learning. 

Elizabeth has established six global digital citizen clubs for 8 to 14-year-olds, enabling them to connect, communicate, and collaborate with other learners worldwide. 

She holds a Master’s degree in Instructional Designs and Technology, a Bachelor’s in Education from Makerere University, and a Diploma in Education from Kyambogo University, both located in Uganda. Elizabeth is an alumna of the International Leader in Education Program (ILEP). Her passion for education has earned her the distinction of being a U.S. Mission Uganda Alumni Impact Award winner in education.
